“Heya, Sammy. Um...mind visiting a hospital for me?” (Name) mumbled into the phone.

“Sure, which hospital and why?” Sam asked.

            “Allegheny General…in Pittsburgh…”

“Pittsburgh? That’s out by where you live. Why do you need us to stop there?”

“To pick me up.” She answered tentatively.

“Oh. OH!” Realization hit Sam in moments and he nudged Dean, “We’ll be there around seven. You’re going to explain when we get there.” He hung up. “Dean, we’re going to Pittsburgh.”

“Why?” Dean asked giving a confused look, “Who was that?”

“(Name). She’s in the hospital.” Sam sighed.

            “What!? Why!?”

“I don’t know but, we’re going to find out.”

“How long has it been since we’ve seen our little ‘protégé’?”

“A while, two years maybe three at this point.” Sam nodded.

“Good. Haven’t heard her name from any hunters or demons which means she’s been staying out of trouble.” Dean huffed.

Time Skip

The brothers walked into the hospital, asking to find a ‘Rose Tyler Holmes’. When they were told the room they quickly made their way up to (Name)’s room. When they entered she was asleep. Sam went over and gently nudged her shoulder, affectively waking the younger girl.

“Hey guys.” (Name) yawned, sitting up.

“Why the hell are you in a hospital (Nickname)?” Dean demanded.

“Well hello to you too, Dean.”

            “Don’t sass me.”

“I will sass you if I want to sass you. Anyways, I was on a small hunt. Local of course.”

“Small? What were you hunting that did this to you?” Sam asked.

“It was supposed to be two demons. Something I knew I could handle, right? When I got there though, there were twelve. Twelve demons. So naturally we played the ‘tie up the hunter and torture them’ game. Weird shit went down then, all of a sudden Crowley showed up. He had his fun then tossed me a cell phone; said ‘get out and you can call for help. Hope you’ve learned your lesson, darling.’ And left.”

“So you got tortured by demons? How long have you been here!?” Dean asked astounded.

“About four days. Woke up yesterday to find my whole legs in a cast and was told I passed out in the ambulance.”

“You were hurt and you didn’t call us until now?”

“911 first Winchesters second. It was life or death at the time. Sorry you weren’t my first call. I only got my phone back today. I want out.”

“What do you mean ‘You want out.’?” Sam asked.

“Meaning you’re taking me home because life hell if I’m praying to Balthazar. Do you know how detrimental that would be?” (Name) exclaimed, grabbing her crutches and getting up from the bed.

“Considering he’s an angel, I don’t see how that would be ‘detrimental’…why is your cast an American flag?”

“Because I was unconscious. That’s why. Let’s go.” She ordered and crutched away from them.

Sam glanced at Dean who shrugged and followed (Name) out of the hospital. She crutched ahead of them, Dean on her heals, while Sam stopped to actually check her out. By time he made it back to the Impala, (Name) was already sitting in the back, arms crossed and pouting.  Dean had started Baby and was patiently waiting for his brother to join them. Sam chuckled to himself before joining them in the passenger seat.

            “Where to?” Sam asked.

“You guys know where I live. Take me home.” (Name) mumbled.

“Hey! I am not your chauffeur!” Dean exclaimed.

“Please?” She asked in a softer, more desperate, whisper.

“Alright, alright.” He smiled and pulled out of the parking lot.

The drive was quiet. (Name) didn’t speak, neither did Sam or Dean. They all listened to the purr of the engine and stared out to the road. It felt odd; last time they were in the Impala together the ride was full of jokes and laughter. This one was tense and quiet, that is until Dean lost it, slamming his fists on the wheel.

“Dammit (Name)! Why would you go on a demon hunt alone!? You know it’s dangerous!” He yelled.

“I’m sorry. I just…I didn’t know what I was doing. I thought I was safe, that I knew what I had it under control. It was only supposed to be two demons. Two!”

“You should’ve known better! It’s never just two!”

“It was local! When does anything ever happen in this city!”

            “That’s not the point!”

“Oh my god! Dean stop the car!” (Name) cried.

As soon as he stopped (Name) bolted, as fast as she could on the crutches from the car, running up to the police tape, only to get stopped by cops.

“You can’t cross this line miss.” A cop said, restraining her.

“Bullshit I can’t! This is my house! What happened!?”

“Your neighbor reported that someone set it on fire last night.” He informed her.

“Oh…okay…I’m just…I’m just going to go sit down…over there…away from…this.” She nodded, tears streaking down her face as the boys came up behind her. She shoved her way past and sat under a nearby oak tree. “I’m ruined. That was all my gear. All my books, Everything I owned. All gone thanks to some dumb demons. I quit. I give up.” (Name) cried out loud. “Might as well call Balthazar.”

“Whoa, whoa, hold up kiddo. You still have us, you can stay in the bunker and we’ll help you.” Dean said, flopping down beside her.

“Yeah, not everything is lost.” Sam agreed, sitting on her other side.

“All my memories were in that house Sam. That’s where I grew up. That’s where my parents were killed by a ghost. That’s where I started hunting. That house is where my dog is buried!”

            “Oh…sorry.”

“Can we…can we go?” (Name) whimpered quietly. “I don’t want to be here.”

`           “Sure.” Dean nodded, standing.

Sam stood next and (Name), without asking, climbed onto his back, burying her face into his neck. He didn’t object and easily carried her back to the waiting Impala. Sam set her in the back of the car before shedding his jacket and placing it around her, getting into the front of the car. Dean drove off but, this time he blasted AC/DC in attempt to distract the distraught girl in the back seat. (Name) elected to ignore the music and took a nap instead.

When (Name) woke up she found herself lying on a bed in the bunker. She had managed to sleep for over thirteen hours. Balthazar was at the foot of her bed, watching over her. She sat up and rubbed her eyes.

“Good morning. Sleep well?” Balthazar asked with a smile.

“Considering I slept for over thirteen hours, yeah.” She smiled sadly.

“Actually, you slept for a whole day.”

“Well I deserve it. I have a broken leg, my house burned down, my gear is all gone now, and I lost everything.”

“You haven’t lost me, now have you? You haven’t lost the boys. Now, why didn’t you pray to me when you were chained up? I could’ve helped y’know!?”

“I don’t know. I didn’t want you to take me away like last time. You babied me and almost didn’t let me go hunting again…and that was only from a sprained wrist and a cut that needed stitches.”

“I worry about you... You play a big part in this time period, I gotta keep you around so you can change things the way you’re supposed to.”

“I don’t even want to be around anymore.”

“I know, darling, I know.” He pulled her over and kissed the top of her head, “But you just have to keep going. I know you can.”

            “I love you, Balthazar.”

“I love you too. I’m going to go get you Gatorade and a sandwich. You’ve earned it.”

(Name) giggled, “Tell them I’m awake and I want visitors. Preferably Sam, he’s more intelligent.”

“I heard that!” Dean shouted from outside the door.

            “Good!”

The End

Am I ever going to finish my series? Like, all three of them? Eventually, before band camp. Hopefully. Maybe. We'll get there.

I don't even know what happened at the end of this. I just...I don't know. Hope you like it!
